Amazon prime video subscription free 2021

Amazon Prime Video, or simply Prime Video, is an Amazon.com, Inc. subscription video-on-demand over-the-top streaming and renting service that is available as a standalone service or as part of Amazon's Prime membership. The service mainly distributes Amazon Originals, which are films and television shows created by Amazon Studios or licenced to Amazon. The service also hosts material from other sources, content add-ons, live sports events, and video rental and purchase options.

The service, which is available globally, may need a complete Prime membership in order to be accessed. The service may be accessible without a complete Prime membership in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, although it can only be accessed via a dedicated website in Australia, Canada, France, India, Turkey, and Italy. Amazon Channels, or Prime Video Channels, are content add-on services that allow users to subscribe to additional video subscription services from other content providers within Prime Video, such as Epix, Starz, Pantaya, Discovery+, Boomerang, Cinemax, Tastemade, Curiosity Stream, Ameba TV, Showtime, BET+, Paramount+, Noggin, BBC Select, BritBox, AMC+, Allblk, Shudder, and Acorn TV.

Launched as Amazon Unbox in the United States on September 7, 2006, the service evolved with an increasing library and incorporated the Prime Video membership following the creation of the Prime subscription. The service was later called Amazon Instant Video on Demand. Following the acquisition of the UK-based streaming and DVD-by-mail business LoveFilm in 2011, Prime Video was introduced to the Prime membership in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Austria in 2014, offered on a monthly subscription of £/€7.99 per month, carrying on the LoveFilm Instant plan.
